About the Author

Matt Jacobson is from the United States and had an active career there as a fire captain with an urban city fire department. Ever the adventurer, he is usually out in the boondocks of Cambodia, or if not there, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, or Burma. Once in awhile he even does a little work.

Matt set up residence in Cambodia when he left the fire service in 1997, having already travelled extensively around Southeast Asia and Cambodia for the better part of the previous decade, and has called the country his home ever since. He is also the author of the latest edition of Adventure Cambodia, and the co-author of the first edition of Adventure Cambodia.
